Cathedral of Trees

about

'Cathedral of Trees' began as an Orchestral Tools 'Artist Showcase' for their Creative Soundpacks, co-composed with Frederick Theysson. This dynamic track's inspiration stems directly from the percussive forest sounds of the 'Arbos' soundpack, and from finding solace in the Berlin woodlands during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The track has since evolved into a full scale single, expanding to include spacious ambience, AI-generated beats, and lush strings scored around Ashia's captivating voice and expressive cello playing. The piece is in turn classical, electronic, and pop — constantly evolving and shifting through genre-elusive soundscapes. The track was mixed and mastered by Simonne Jones, resulting in a highly atmospheric and evocative performance.
